The Big 4 LIVE – Trailer

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

Back in the 22nd of June in Sofia, Bulgaria, there was possibly the greatest gathering of thrash metal bands ever seen. “The Big 4” as they came to be known back in the mid-80’s, that is to say Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax all shared a stage for one of the most awesome concerts ever.

Now the event will be available for purchase on DVD and Blu-Ray from 29 October in Northern Europe, 1 November in the rest of the world and 2 November in North America. You gotta wonder why the Americans get it after everyone else but anyway. To give you a taster of what it was like and what to expect from the DVD, MetallicaTV posted the following trailer:

If you’re a huge fan you can also grab the Deluxe Boxset which will give you all sorts of goodies, including a limited edition guitar pick if you order the boxset from the metallica store. Now the good news is, Metallica haven’t apparently played any tune from St Anger (whoo hoo), so looking at the set list it looks like a pretty good selection and should be a fun concert to watch overall (though I’m not a huge fan of Slayer myself)

Steve Vai – Where The Wild Things Are DVD Preview

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

As those of you following Steve Vai on Twitter will know, the man is working on a new DVD filmed during one of his shows at Minneapolis called “Where The Wild Things Are”. I must admit to never have been fortunate enough as of yet to see Steve play live but there is still hope. Until a new show comes along, this DVD should provide quite an idea of just how much of a show he can put together.
