It's a great interview. Love how excited and relieved he sounds to finally be playing guitar in a band again, vs. being the frontman. Yet again they try to pin him with the 'tinnitus' term and yet again he denies it. Where did people get the idea he had tinnitus in the first place?! Hearing loss isn't the same thing… I'd LOVE to read an interview where he confirms anything other then hearing loss – from any year. The coolest thing about the interview is that he sounds so optimistic. Paul's had a stellar career and it's not going 'bad' anytime soon.

I missed all the shows too, for the same reasons. Too expensive and too far away.
The Internet doesn't best 'the live concert experience' but it's good enough for now.
There's always 2011 to look forward to.

Hi Alexis,

Either language works, I keep my blog in English as my "target audience" is more likely to be anglophone but yes as you correctly guessed, I am French. I tried having it in both languages once upon a time but that was far too much work.

As I said, your backing track is well suited for my playing so I would expect to record something over it soon and when I do, I'll probably just post it in here.

I don't know whether to write in French or in English so I'll stick to the language of your post (but you're french, aren't you ?). First, thank you very much for your kind comments about Guitar School Garden. I'm glad you like the backing track ! It's true that Guitar School Garden is a tricky name for a guitar blog written all in french. Still, I guess you can grab a few things given that you've got tab and audio (or video) for basically everything.

Please feel free to send me your recordings on the backing track, I'll be glad to post them on the blog if you allow me to.

Wasn't I just saying (2 minutes ago?) I hoped there was a Budapest date? I was joking around with a friend last night that I hoped it was at the 'Grampa Fuckin' Spaceshuttle club' because I couldn't remember the name of the venue that Mr. Big played at in 2009… So guess what just turned up? Check eventim.hu… I need to make more venue jokes!

I think maybe a couple more dates might get added.
(Madrid for example was just added yesterday – when you and I found the list from Frontline, they had just updated it!)
There's no date for Budapest, and the support for Paul is tremendous in Budapest (and Hungary)! So either all of the venues his team wanted are booked solid for that timeframe, or there are still good things in the works for all of us PG fans.
Keep up the good work. I love your blog!

Oh, J-L… You're close! You're pretty amazing. (You're GOOD – you were soooo close with those Japanese translations for Fuzz Universe. You were THE source for a couple days).

There are 35 dates… are none in Scotland, unfortunately. Caveat: it's early August – things could change, be added to, be cancelled, etc. Wait until Paul confirms the tour to put up a post about it. Then you will have all the dates "rock solid".

It's nice to have some of the info. out here "in the wild" early… that way, people can get the holiday time from work, they can save up for VIP tickets, hit the woodshed and start practicing like mad, etc. This gives us a goal to work towards: those magic concert dates in the future.

My post is in my Drafts folder LOL. I'll be hitting publish as soon as Paul does!

Note that my reserves on the viability of the technology isn’t so much that it will bring about armageddon but that geoengineering is just another form of using the planet as a test tube and consequently we can’t be sure what the outcome will be. Might help lots, might mess things up even more.

But you’re not talking about temperature above, you’re talking about CO2 ppm, which is rather easier to measure. Too little CO2? Turn the buggers off. Too much? Turn them on again…

Obviously it’s not quite that simple, but I see no compelling argument why these devices are likely to bring about The End Of All Things either.

It’s not that simple. You can’t build those kind of devices as if they were some kind of giant thermostats. There’s a lag between the amount of carbon you put / take out of the atmosphere and the changes it has on global temperatures, ocean acidification and so on. You may end up having to turn them off when it’s far too late to do so.
