Saturday Sounds Present: Scorpions – Wind of Change

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Well okay this one’s a bit cheesy but still somehow really quite fitting on many levels.

A Tribute to Ronnie James Dio

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

Today the world of rock and roll has lost one of its most iconic figures. Ronnie James Dio (from Dio, Black Sabbath, Rainbow) passed away after a short battle with the damned crab. Now I’m not going to tape myself attempting to play a version of Holy Diver but instead this video is very famous and yet has possibly the best message one can leave behind amongst the multitude of musical pieces to contribute to.

Thanks Ronnie and Rest in Peace \m/

Pre-order Paul Gilbert’s Fuzz Universe

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Quick post to share a link to preorder Fuzz Universe. When I wrote about it a few days ago it seemed to only be available from HMV Japan, now you can pre-order it from CD Japan (as I did yesterday), though these guys don’t seem to have the DVD for preorder just yet, so I’ll keep you updated on this one.

Joe Satriani UK Tour Dates

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

It seems everything happens at once. Unfortunately, I utterly failed to get myself a ticket to see Slash before it sold out this morning (1h 20 min it’s not quite Metallica but I wasn’t expecting such a short time window), so I’m gearing myself up for Satch’s tour in October in the UK. Here are dates and venues:

Special Guest this year is Simon McBride, not someone I know unfortunately but if he’s worth opening for Satch, I look forward to discovering him. Tickets go on sale this Friday 14th of May at 9am
