Climate Denial Crock of the Week

Here’s a very interesting YouTube channel I came across a few months ago via the good folks at the Manpollo forum called “Climate Denial Crock of the Week” (CDCotW) and I thought I’d say a thing or two about it.

If like me, you find yourself drawn towards discussions about climate change and what we can do to stop it, you’ll have encountered the type of people we commonly refer to as “denier”. These people are usually greatly misinformed, very stubborn and will do everything to have the last word regardless of how ridiculous their claim may sound.

CDCotW was set-up by one Peter Sinclair. He’s not a scientist but a guy concerned about Climate change trying to spread accurate information to as many people ready to listen. He also loves deniers as they give him inspiration for things to research. The result are a series of short videos tackling certain issues deniers will go on about. Examples include “Climate change is happening in other planets too, it must be the sun” or “The planet is actually cooling”. These videos are backed-up by excerpts from reports from respectable scientists or scientific organisations such as NASA, AAAS or NAS. The very solid documentation excuses the fact that, well, it doesn’t actually get out every week, but when it gets out, it’s well worth watching.

To give you an example (and because I need an excuse to post a video ;) ), here’s his take on the “Medieval Warm Period & Little Ice Age of the Elizabethan period” that people will use to justify that “climate change has happened before so we’re not responsible”

So if you’ve not done so already, check his YouTube channel and get watching!
